Kai is committed to equity and inclusion. She has served on several committees tasked with advancing equity, access, and inclusion in the field of art education and has been invited to share her expertise in publications and speaking engagements. Her understanding of how to nurture change on multiple levels, from the personal to the institutional, is rooted in her experience working with community and her personal pursuit of liberation.

The Getty Foundation
Multicultural Undergraduate Internship (MUI) Hub Leader, 2014, 2015, 2016
Organized two days of professional learning each year for Getty MUI interns that supported exposure to Los Angeles, nonprofit organizations, professionals, and careers in arts and culture; facilitated discussions about diversity and racism in the fields of the arts and museums
